Michigan Squeaks Out A Win Versus Tennessee, 73-71
The Michigan Wolverines eked out a win against a determined Tennessee Volunteers team that almost came out with an upset. The final score was 73-71. Yes, it was that close in the final minutes. But it wasn’t that way during the first half, where the Wolverines held a comfortable 11-point lead heading into the final half of the game.
But thanks to some sloppy plays, the Wolverines slowly lost the lead heading into the final minute. The Vols slowly ate up at the lead and rallied in the last two minutes or so from 10 points down to get as close as 71-72 in the final 13 seconds of the game. But then came the controversial officiating that somehow robbed the Vols of any opportunity to score an upset. The Vols big man Jarnell Stokes was called for a questionable charge on a play against The Wolverines’ Jordan Morgan with six seconds left in the game. The call ultimately blew the chance for Tennessee to go for the win as Michigan gets the ball back and sealed the deal with a free throw for the final tally of 73-71.
